Electronics Systems Group

The Electronics Systems Group (ESG) performs the design and development of all Chelton Ltd electronic products including signal processing, switching and RF circuitry.

The product portfolio presently consists of:

• Radio Transceivers
• Radio Receivers
• Homing Systems
• Direction Finding Systems
• Logic-Conversion Units for Antenna tuning
• Cockpit control panels
• Interference Cancellation Systems and many bespoke electronic devices.

The range of employed technologies include:

• Digital: Digital Signal Processing (D.S.P); Discrete Logic; Micro-controllers; Micro-processors; FPGA and PAL.
• Analogue: Small Signal to power, inclusive of switch-mode PSU design.
• RF; HF to Microwave, small Signal and Power including synthesisers, RF power amplifiers, RF & IF Strips and Vector processing.
• Software: High Level software is written using C, C++ and Pascal (Delphi). Signal Processing is written in Target Development Environment and Low Level coding is performed in Assembler across platforms including 8086, 8031/51 series.
• CAD: A Visula CAD system is employed for circuit capture and 2D / PCB design for Conventional, PTH, Multilayer, and Flexible PCBs. Both SMT and through-hole devices are utilised. An Altium system is also available.
• Prototypes: ESG provide assistance for small quantity Production of all First-Off manufacture.
• Post Design Support: ESG provide ongoing customer support and special engineering / adaptations of existing designs.
